Place Your Nitrogen Where It Counts...When It Counts
J&M's 5000 Series NitroGro™ Nitrogen Applicators get nitrogen to your plants consistently and efficiently to help maximize your yields. Customize your 5000 Series NitroGro with models available in either 1,000 gallon (5010) or 1,600 gallon (5016) tank capacities, 25' to 40'-4" working widths, and 20", 22" or 30" row spacing. Choose from injectors or knives to consistently deliver nitrogen next to the root to minimize the risk of denitrification. The nitrogen applicator's high‐tensile grade steel coulter shafts have a true 34" of crop clearance for a longer application window. The heavy‐duty 7"×7" toolbar uses a unique pivot design to raise and lower the center bar on a gradual arc for consistent and perpendicular ground contact. This single pivot design eliminates six pivot points compared to a dual linkage toolbar, reducing wear and maintenance. The toolbar flex and hydraulic down force ensures nitrogen is being placed at your desired depth, no matter the soil conditions. The toolbar can also be used as a rigid bar to suit your application needs. Pivoting points on the 5000 Series applicators use poly bushings for increased durability. Available options include closers, flow monitors, depth control spools, 3" fill valve, Raven 450 controller, ground drive pump and wavy coulters.
Toolbar Pivot Design
Less Pivot Points, Less Wear
The unique toolbar pivot design on the 5000 Series NitroGro Nitrogen Applicators raises and lowers the center bar through a designed arc so that knives insert into the ground at a 90° angle. However, the pivot arm of the toolbar linkage is designed so the arc is more gradual and more consistent when applying the coulter perpendicularly to the ground. This unique arm design eliminates complex pivot points and incurs less wear.
34" Crop Clearance
Extend Your Application Window
34" of toolbar clearance allows for a long application window.
5000 Series Applicators are built with heavy duty components to assure your applicator always gets the nitrogen you need when it is needed most. The large 7"×7" toolbar frame flexes for consistent application while withstanding the high stress demands placed on the toolbar when the coulters are in the ground. The extra strong high-tensile grade steel shafts resist bending or twisting while keeping the coulters in place.
Short hitch-to-axle length (12''-0" on 5010 and 14'-0" on 5016 models) allows the applicator to follow directly behind the tractor, creating just one set of tracks that reduces crop damage and eliminates the need for a steerable hitch option.
J&M's Para-Linkage coulter design keeps the applicator knives consistently in the ground while going over rocks and hard soil. As the Para-Linkage coulter rises, the knives rise at the same rate as the disc to ensure consistent fertilizer application at the desired depth. On traditional coulters, as the disc moves over an obstacle the knives swing up at an arc. This causes the knife depth and the fertilizer application to be inconsistent.
Para-Linkage coulters feature greaseless poly-bushings at all pivot locations to reduce maintenance and fatigue.
Learn more about row closers
Adding row closers to your NitroGro seals the nitrogen in place, ensuring more is absorbed by the plant and less is wasted.

The Raven SCS 450 automatically maintains the rate regardless of speed changes. The SCS 450 consoles include a 10-year non-volatile memory to maintain settings even with an extended loss of power.
Flow monitors allow the operator to see the rate of flow to each coulter using a floating ball located inside the transparent inspection tube. Each coulter is connected to the flow monitors with a separate supply hose.
Ensure a consistent coulter depth with these optional 4" depth control spools.
