Torsion-Flex Soil Conditioners

Designed to Perform, Built to Last

Flex your muscles the next time you’re working ground with a J&M torsion-flex soil conditioner. The double basket design features a torsion-flex arm that maintains proper ground tension and allows the basket to flex over uneven terrain. The result is a more consistent performance that levels and finishes the soil in one pass...preparing a more uniform seed bed composed of finer soil at planting depth to help retain proper moisture and large particles on top to reduce crusting.

Double Twist Baskets

The Double Twist™ baskets by J&M feature a 2-to-1 slat design, providing ultimate ground contact for smoother rolling. This reduces the chance of "wash boarding" and prepares the field for maximum seed to soil contact and germination. The flat end and open center design reduces the chance of rock, mud and debris build-up. The heavy-duty 13" or 16" baskets are made with tall, ⅜" thick steel slats for maximum durability.

Torsion-Flex Support Design

The offset dual basket design creates unequal downward pressure between the front and rear baskets. With less downward pressure, the front basket works the top of the soil and allows the baskets to "walk over" rocks and foreign debris and reduce the chance of washboarding, while the rear basket more aggressively penetrates the soil for maximum conditioning, residue and chemical mixing.

3-Section Soil Conditioner More Features

Heavy-duty GBGI bearings feature a cast hub-style housing with double roller bearings for extra durability. The rubber-sealed hub caps and 3 piece "V seal" are optimal for keeping dirt out. This design means bearings are serviceable.

Miscellaneous Features

  • Two rows of standard 13" diameter baskets with Double-Twist serrated bar design
  • 11L-15 new tires
  • Extendable tongue
  • Rear storage jack

3-Section Soil Conditioner Options

Basket Options

13" Diameter Baskets

  • Basket design consists of eight (8), ⅜" thick by 2" tall steel slats
  • Standard diameter baskets produce greater rotational speeds for more aggressive ground contact (ideal for harder soil types)
  • Large center opening for small chance of rock collection

16" Diameter Baskets

  • Basket design consists of nine (9), ⅜" thick by 3" tall steel slats
  • Larger diameter baskets pull easier with less horsepower and float over soft, sandy, loamy soils
  • Larger center opening for even less chance of rock collection

Combination 13" and 16" Baskets

  • 16" basket in front combined with 13" basket in rear
  • 16" diameter front basket that allows it to float over the ground without digging in, even in soft conditions
  • 13" rear basket rotates at a higher rpm and allows the serrated cutting blades to make contact at two different points, unlike basket combinations of the same size. Two different points of ground contact work the same amount of ground in one pass as a soil conditioner with matching size baskets in two passes.

Serrated Bar

Serrated bar baskets feature thick steel with serrated teeth designed to aggressively work the toughest soils. These baskets ensure a uniform and consistent seedbed composed of finer soils at planting depth to help retain proper moisture and larger particles on top to reduce crusting.

Round Bar

Round bar baskets consist of nine (9), ⅞" diameter steel rods that flatten and firm the soil for the best seed to soil contact. This design creates a very firm seedbed in any soil type.

Combination Serrated and Round Bar

Dual basket combination featuring a front serrated bar and rear round bar will chop and lift the soil (serrated) then flatten and firm the soil (round bar). Best for cloddy field conditions. The serrated bar baskets feature a 2 to 1 double twist design, while the round bar baskets feature a 1.5 to 1 twist design, providing ultimate ground contact for smoother pulling and reduced the chance of washboarding. The flat end and open center design reduces the chance of rock, mud and debris build-up. GBGI bearings ensure performance under the most extreme conditions

Tines

Diagonal or Straight Round Bar or Coil-Tine Spring

An optional, forward-reaching leveling bar harrow features a self-cleaning design that allows upward mobility to eliminate trash build-up.
